In the Stuart community we are in our 6th year of providing low-cost acupuncture and natural medicine treatments for $20-$40 only. No extra fees and no strings attached.
Apparently we have made quite an impression in the community because it seems now that almost every practitioner in town has some sort of gimmick to make the public think they also offer this service while in while in reality they are only using it as a come on to get you in their clinic and convince you to spend more money than you should.
So when trying to get acupuncture in Stuart, here are some of the ways they do this:
1) There is a monthly special for 12 rapid release treatments (what is that?) for $300 (claimed retail value of $540) plus a consultation from a prectitioner who also makes extra income giving seminars on how practitioners can convince patients to spend $750-$1500 to get started on a series of treatments. That would buy 36-75 treatments at our clinic.
2) There are also offers of community acupuncture but only for 1-2 hours on 1-2 days per week in some practices. This is meant to get you in and then they make it hard for you to get an appointment so in order to get the treatment you need you end up booking a full price treatment that ranges from $60-$100/treatment. They also hope you get a great response on the Community acupuncture treatment because they can say “if you think that was good wait until you try a full treatment!” That is just wrong. There is no difference between a community acupuncture treatment and a conventional acupuncture treatment except you may have to take your clothes off and lay in a room all by yourself with no human interaction. Not my cup of tea.
3) There are some community clinics where they charge community acupuncture rates, but they insist that you come twice a week. That is not how we do this at TCCA. We prescribe treatment on an individual basis and we do not try to get the maximum number of visits out of you.
TCCA is here to serve it’s community to the point where if you need treatment and cannot afford it then we will pay for your treatment (the girls have to make a living) out of the clinics budget and treat you for free, but our fees are so low this does not happen often because most people can afford our fees and we are on track this year to provide more than 4000 treatments!
